Charger Football standouts — The 2009 Westview High School football team held its postseason awards banquet Thursday night in the ballroom on the University of Tennessee at Martin campus. Players singled out for individual awards for their efforts during the season included (front, from left) Tevin Evans, Best Defensive Back; Barkley Legens, All-District and Best Defensive Lineman; Abraham Haddad, Special Teams Player of the Year; DeMarcus Williams, All-District and Co-Best Offensive Back; Mark Tucker, Coaches Award; Matt Melton, Best Receiver; Logan Callins, Best Linebacker; Tremaine McKinley, Team Academic Award; (back, from left) Tanner Spencer, All-District, Offensive Player of the Year; Matt Granner, Most Improved; Blake Pullen, Scout Team Player of the Year; Bradley Hahn, All-District, Co-Best Offensive Lineman and Dr. Hobart Beale Charger Award; Bryce Hawks, Coaches Award; Matt Smith, All-District and Co-Best Offensive Lineman; Brian West, All-District and Defensive Player of the Year; and Chevy Taylor, All-District and Co-Best Offensive Back.
